§ 19-2. Extensions; extreme and/or special circumstances.

  • Where extreme and/or special circumstances warrant, the disconnection from city utility services for nonpayment may be waived by the city manager no more than once per year for customers with timely payment histories (the length of extension at the city manager's discretion), under the following hardship cases:

    (1)

    Illness in the immediate family living within the same household.

    (2)

    Extended out-of-town trip during the 25-day payment period.

    (3)

    Water dependent medical apparatus.

    (4)

    Loss of family income (i.e., layoff, termination of job, and/or lost or delayed checks such as social security, AFDC, or other benefit checks received on a monthly basis).
