§ 8-39. Subordinate officers.

  • Subordinate officers of the department, such as assistant chiefs, captains, and lieutenants, shall aid the chief in the discharge of his duties; obey promptly all orders they receive from him; in his absence, take command, according to rank, and then be vested with the foregoing duty or commands of a superior officer. For improper conduct when acting as officers, they shall be removed from office or expelled from the department as determined by the city manager.
