§ 8-37. Officers generally; election; vacancies.

(a)

The president, vice-president and secretary-treasurer of the department shall be elected separately in the order named, by written or printed ballots, by a majority vote of the members present at the meeting held the first Tuesday in November of each year. The elected officers shall assume the duties of their respective office on the first Tuesday in January.

(b)

If a vacancy shall occur in any office, it shall be filled for the unexpired term at the next regular meeting in the same manner as at the annual election.
