Latest version.
  • (a)

For all areas which were included in the city limits before June 26, 2000, special exception review for placement of off-site advertising signs or billboards is not required in the limited zone. In any other area of the city, except the limited zone or the prohibited zone, special exception review is required.

    (b)

All billboards and all off-site advertising signs placed anywhere in the city must meet the requirements of the state and federal law and all city zoning requirements. A copy of a state issued permit, if a permit is required by the state, must be submitted to the community development department prior to commencement of construction or erection of a sign. Nothing in this article shall be construed to relieve any party from responsibility for the fulfillment of all other requirements of the city ordinances and state and federal law.
