§ 2-6. Preference to local persons, firms, or corporations.
(a)
Preference allowed. In the purchase of, or contract for personal property or contractual services, or construction contracts, the city commission may give a preference in an amount not to exceed three percent of the bid price to local persons, firms, or corporations.
(b)
Local persons, firms, and corporations defined. Local persons, firms, and corporations shall be defined as those whose principal place of business is located within the municipal boundaries of the city.
(c)
Exceptions. This local preference shall not apply to any contract which is funded in such a manner that local preference would be precluded because of requirements, rules or regulations of the funding source.
