§ 19-40. Failure to maintain plumbing system.

Latest version.
  • Any failure to keep the water lines or sewer lines leading from the plumbing systems of the user unit to the city main, clean, leak free and maintained in a proper manner will give the city the right to cut off the water connection to the user unit, which shall not be reconnected until the water line or sewer line is cleaned and/or repaired or maintained properly. In those instances where the user has its own private water supply, the city shall have the right to cut off such water supply to the plumbing system, and the user shall not have the right to reconnect its own private water supply until the water line or sewer line leading from the plumbing system to the city main has been maintained, repaired and/or cleaned and is in proper condition. Any violation of this provision by reconnecting the private water supply or the connection from the city water line, until such sewer lines are cleaned and maintained properly, shall be considered a violation of this article and subject to the penalties provided in section 1-7.
